The Winds of Change

You can find the tune this is based on at  http://www.lostsoul.net/howards/midi/enya-midi/enyamidi/celts/sun.mid
It is Sun in the Stream by Enya.

The long journey now is closing
Sails cross the Western sea
In final bid to return, whence they came.
Those who choose the way before them
Will find those gone before.
And the land left will n'er be the same.

Passing forms in the mist, travelling on to the west.
Gathering close the feel, of the land they love.
Stopping for naught, knowing speed is the best,
Yearning passage for the stars above.

Weary souls that bear the burden
Of wars fought, and battles done
Now will know peace they've long been denied.
Packing up their precious mem'ries,
They look not to what they leave,
Wanting only to ride the tide.

What becomes of those left, we who cannot sail off?
What are we to do when the light is gone?
Eru's singing did bring 'round all that is here and now.
Can we do less than add to the song?

Peoples die, the new bear borning
We mourn, regret the loss.
What becomes of those, gone now, we knew?
Their song ended, we hear singing,
With the dawn of burning life,
Heritage of the ones, sung anew.

For all has been wrought by the hand of those gone,
All we are, all we ever hope to be.
Now is the time, to stand firm on our own
Only time, only time will see.

Gently tended through our childhood
Fledglings now, we take to flight
As we were meant to do, all along.
Eru's blessings fall up on us
Younger children of the stars
But tears shed for those for which we long.

Can we do less than add to the song?

Thank you. I am glad you like it. Just something about her music inspires the words. It also helps if she forgot to add words. LOL

    Ethereal!

For some reason this reminds me of the flight of all the spider-children in Charlotte's web. I find it strange and ethereal which is very appealing to me, much like Enya's music! You did wonderfully matching the tone of the words to the music. Nice work!
