Chester Bunny (2) Rides The Rails

Missing image
Chester Bunny lived in a warren ,
with a very large noisy family,
he always wanted to be alone,
but that was impossible you see.

One day in utter frustration,
Chester hopped on a freight train,
not caring where he would end up,
or if he would see his family again.

The train had traveled pretty far,
then finally it came to a stop,
Chester looked out the big door,
then jumped off with one big hop.

He was in the middle of chaos,
there were people everywhere,
a giant dog stated chasing him,
he wanted to eat the little hare.

Chester hopped back on the train,
then lay down to catch his breath
he fell asleep and began to dream,
of the friends and family he left.

Then train began to roll again,
as Chester Bunny slept on the floor,
when he awoke the next morning,
he got up to peek out the big door.

Chester could not believe his eyes,
the train had brought him back home,
he smiled and hopped off the train
his heart no longer wanted to roam.

Chester scurried back to the warren,
hopping across the daisies in the lea,
he had run away but soon realized,
he missed the safety of his family.

    Well done and imaginately written.

Sweet and innocent and yet portrays a message to all who read it. Wonderful sentiments and it flows happily along to a nice ending.

Great message. How often we are discontented with what we have, taking things for granted, we should learn to be more appreciative of what we have.

I can agree on this for I have once been there. Sometimes we all fall off the wagon, but there are always helping hands to get you back on the wagon. Great poem.

I often caught many a nephew and niece out changing lines in nursery rhymes I could visualise this well as reading this one, a classic for kids this poem, could be read in many endless years still yet to come. Kids poems and rhymes are always unique and to treasure for endless generations.

how I adore those furry little friends that dance around the daffodils and play in the field of land called bunnys.
have not seen one in too long now but I could see this one in my memory.

    thanks for the reminder
