The Meeting

I scheduled a meeting with
the clouds
the rain
the wind
the sun
the moon
the ocean tide
the stars
the rose
and you.
Sun was late
stuck in the traffic
of grey, grey Clouds
Rain arrived early
And hugged you so tight
The warm Wind kissed you dry.
Sun apologized for his tardiness
And smiled sheepishly at his delayed absence
He then sang a song to you
Of the things he had seen
During his long, tired life
During the last lines of the poem
When Sun rejoiced
For everything
I saw your eyes
They were the sweetest things
I had ever seen
I called up Moon
Who whispered she had a date with Ocean Tide
I told her he was invited too
She began her slow, careful dance
I a delicate yet strong balance
Of pushing away
And pulling towards
She was swollen with pride
But too humble to show it
It was then that her countless cousins
The Stars
Started their even more intricate dance
Across the midnight heavens
A pale Rose
Gently touched my hand
She offered herself
And I offered her
To you
She caught Moon's beams
In her necklace of dew
So that you may remember
This moment
In the river of your dreams

Author notes

This poem started one day when I was wondering what it would be like to interview the sun. What would the interests and personalities of celestial objects be? Just a random little thought

    mucho thanks

thank you very much, kindredblood! I actually thought the beginning was a bit lengthy listing all the guests...and I wish I had added more about the person receiving the rose...but yes, thank you mucho
