Sam and Stephanie were walking to school. Dreading how this may end. People knew Sam's secret. No doubt about it, and people don't usually like secrets. Sam, in all of his glory, came out of the closet. People weren't taking this well.
'Faggots, burn in hell.' Some people were saying. Some of them were the ones they just talked to the day before. People throwing things at them. Trying to make them cry. The torment they will have to endure. For the next 3 years. 'Great,' Sam said. 'These bastards.' 'Shush' Stephanie said. 'Act like you don't hear them... no one will be able to do anything in class.' 'That's what you think... Mr. Norman wont be too happy...' 'Eugh... I know... don't listen to him.' 'I'll try not too.'
The bell rang, and Stephanie gave Sam one last hug. 'Good luck.' And they went their separate ways. Sam can tell this was going to be hell. Faggot he kept hearing. No one seemed to understand.
He got into class. Mr. Norman and the rest of his classmates gave him a glare of hatred. No one wanted to sit next to the 'faggot.' Mr. Norman wouldn't even look at him. Someone said 'So, is that girl you hugged your girlfriend, Samantha?' Sam just ignored what he heard, and sat in the back of the class.
The bell for lunch rang, finally. GSA meeting today. Stephanie met Sam at the same spot, as they always did. And walked into their classroom of safety. Sam regretted what he did the day before. He thought 'Stephanie is going to have to hear this for a very long time.' Like Stephanie read his thoughts she said 'It's fine, don't worry about it. It will be OK.'

Oh my. Sun, this is one of the saddest things I've ever read, mostly because I know exactly what he is going through! I am so sorry for both of you! (sigh) There's not much I can do over the internet, though... This is the most emotional thing I've ever read, partly because I know what this is like, and partly because of the injustice of it all. Great job!
