like genesis the alpha of time

and the goodness flowed forth

of the lords great design

the roots burrowed down
the essence of life
was finally found
3 Radiant rays
shining down on the earth
provided the conditions
for the great plants birth

that was an image of himself

8 From dandelion to watermelon
from lion to alligator
all life was created equally

from roses to nightshade

all plants and animals
were created equally

all Cannabis today
descended from
Maryjane the mother
10 A single perfect creation
all natural and grand
created by higher powers
and set free upon the land

it blossoms and flowers

LOL! For me not to be a smoker I must admit I love this write. I like that you use the bible in something that is suppose to be illegal and wrong. I mean you do have a point. It is made by nature. A plant. Yet it is forbidden and I don't see why. I mean if you want to get a hit then you'll find a way to get that hit. So I applaud you for this.

first of all, the picture at the top is really beautiful. I am not a hater of weed, I actually wish they would make ciggs illigal and week legal. I just really don't want my perents to end up in jail, at least not entill I can move out first so I am not in a group home or something. So far this is one of my favorets out of the other ones I have read. but anywase, I don't think anyone should hate on somthing that someone does when it is none of there business, I hate that.

this is a very controversial topic and i have to disagree with you on legalization of the herb. maryjane has already fucked up a lot of my friends lives and im only 16!! yeah there are positive things about the drug, but hello abusing the shit just screws you over. sry this is a touchy subject for me. good poem otherwise. good luck in my contest!

i like the concept, and, though i don't partake of your herb, i agree. the only thing that i didn't like was that you started numbering after every four lines like it is mostly in the bible, then you just stopped numbering for a while and got really hooked on the 'tion' assonance... all and all though, it worked out!!

hmmmm you seem to have a lil bit of an obsession with weed.....(i know, i know, state the obvious). personally, i couldnt care less whether you or anyone else smoked weed. who actually cares?? people do a lot worse and get away with it. anyway, i dont really have an opinion on whether it should be legalised or not. i dont think its healthy to have an obsession to this extent for anything, though. as i say, i couldnt care less what other people get up to. the only thing i object to is habits that affect other people. such as cigarette smoking. its a dirty habit, for smokers and for non smokers. anyway, its a good write! sometimes i just keep on chatting......i think its cos im in the middle of my exams n i dont seem 2 talk 2 anyone cos im studying so much so when i do talk its like *overload*...lol im sorry! im not crazy!

I liked how you put the numbers in like this is verse 1 etc. Now on to the topic at hand. Yes God put it on this Earth, and you know what God sees all. Before God put it on this Earth he knew in Generations to come that We would all be smoking it one day. But he also saw things Like War and Famine and Shit like that and He put us here anyway. Now my Question to you is Did God put pot here and hemp here for us to smoke or for us to use "Responsibly" For things such as making clothes and rope etc. Or did he put it here to help with things like Glaucoma (Sp?) and other medical remedies? We as humans won't know the answers to that until we're dead will we? I believe in God, and I believe he is a Loving God, But he is also very difficult to mis-understand as well. Either way, this was a great write Gabe. I think you are truly brilliant. AND very intelligent. Oh, and you're poetry's good too
