The birds begin singing their beautiful story
The sky starts to glow with a subtle light
I lie in wonder; as I watch such a wonderful sight
The sun rises; giving its bright warm light
Shining down with love on everything
To my heart; peace and serenity it brings
Calm and quiet; as the mist rises from the stream
Rays of light; burning through; revealing a wonderful sunbeam
Dew; reflecting like diamonds on the leaves
A more beautiful sight there could never be
So as the morning comes do not let it slip away
For it is the beginning of another beautiful day
Author notes
Jane; even though I do not know you I do know what it is like to not be well and to be in the hospital; I sincerely hope that this will take you back to pleasant memories. Get well soon.

Kevin, I love this poem. You have captured a sunrise perfectly. I love both sunrises and sunsets and to stand and watch the sky change through its many colours is one of Gods gifts to man and warms my heart every time I witness the event.
Thank you for sharing this with me...Sue

I love the warm summer mornings as the sun comes up and burns through the mist rising above a stream. The clear air and the dew soaking my shoes as I walk in the grass. Thanks so very much for this lovely comment; I guess we both appreciate the beauty of nature in the morning

Found it! A truly beautiful poem full of the peace of early morning. I love "the dark still reigns in all its glory" and, later, "wonderful sunbeam dew" and "light burning through". Beautiful words and I can feel you breathing in that growing dawn. Thank you for leading me to this one. x Joy -
I myself have been in the hospital all alone with no one to care. I didn't want her to feel that she is alone; there are those of us who won't let that happen.
-
Dear Puppyudog,
Although you say you don't know Jane, you have intuitively captured the mood of her early morning strolls along the dunes with her Beaugus (who is the most handsome and intelligent dog that ever existed and who, like us, worships her unreservedly.)
Thankyou for your entry which I know Jane will love.
Applause and best of luck in the contest.

Thank you very much; I know what it is like to be ill and not able to be with your friends. I sincerely hope that this will bring cheer and brightness to her day.
-
If you didn't know it... sunrise is Jane's favorite part of the day. I'm sure she will appreciate your kinds and gentle words. Thanks for your entry and your effort.
Sincerely,
Leo Long
ps. Good luck in the contest. -
Dear Michelle; I cannot sit back and let one be alone in a strange place; I do hope she will find a little comfort in this and yes; I will stop by her page. I love to read peoples poems for they convey their hearts and souls in their poems. I am sure that I will truly enjoy her poetry.
-
Kevin,
This has such a graceful flow! So peaceful and serene are the visions in ones mind as they read! I know Jane will love this.

Thanks ever so much as you have brought tears to my eyes with such a lovely comment. This is a morning that I have lived many times as a little boy. I wrote this to bring a little happiness to a lady who was and in many ways still is very special to me.

I see you have found one of my favorites. This was written for Misty to help her in one of her sad times. It seems that she always seemed to inspire the best that came from my heart

Oh My...all of our hard work as truly paid off today My Precious Friend. This is an amazing poem. I have chills as I think of all the beautiful mornings I watched the sun rise from the back of the barn on the ranch. The mist would slowly fade away as I slowly enjoyed my coffee and listened to the animals calling out to each other. Ahhh, such bliss. Thanks for the memories and I am very proud of your hard work this morning. Well done...on the poem and on your computer lesson for today!!
