Parting

*PARTING - A LAMENT FROM SAD OLD EDNA*

Parting is such dulcet sorrow;
My lonely heart weeps at eternal separation.
Now you are gone from me
The world is cold and empty
And a veil covers my bitter tears.

To lose my lover, my friend,
My partner through life's sad
And pointless journey...
My very soul is rent asunder and
Cast shattered on the wind.

But let me cease my whingeing!
Upon due reflection this is but
The stuff of which cheap sentiment is composed.
As far as I'm concerned you can FUCK off
And no regrets, you stinking bastard.

Author notes

This is Edna's advice on DUMPING your lover. A lover is only a lover but a good DUMP is a good DUMP.

Please consider adopting another needy feline

Edna, dear, I would applaud your comment on "Pogroms of America," but apparently that in a way amounts to self-praise, so just let me say thanks, and we'll leave it at that. But oh, I see you have ANOTHER POEM! Let's take a look, may I?

Your cat died! Alas! Is that what happened? I do feel some regret for the living remaining, as the dearly departed don't have to feel, in a physical sense anyway. And that was a handsome feline. When did this happen?

I think this is really good! I really like how at the beginning it seems almost to be another poem then the ending. You are so sad at the beginning but then you almost turn on the reader and completly change your direction, its really cool! Very nicely written. You have much talent.

Oh wow that made me really laugh at the end. You sounded like Pride and Prejudice for the first few stanzas, and then all of a sudden - how about not.

This is great. It is not only funny but, I see a tinge of bitter sweet in it to. One thing, regret NOTHING. For through all things, we learn. Be Well and Be Blessed.
