Hope for a friend

broken and alone
unloved even at home
tossed back and forth
a convenient pawn
berated and degraded
held back without support
love never shown him
crying out for hope
struggling to find
the him that he can be
till shining dark and open
she finds his name
words on a screen
images in pixel
soon what he knows not
she will come to be

wicked nyte, I love how you got the pursuit for ones other half falling into place rather then being found while this has been unexplored. awesome work. (this may not be what it meens to you but thats what I think) points at a bird and runs

Actually, you see much here. The friend in question comes from a very broken home, and was often passed back and forth from his mother's house to his father's and back. And the pixel insight was spot on, his love is someone he met originally online, and is soon to move to be with, and his trepidation at all of it. His life has been dark and tragic, and has but that one glimmer of hope. Thank you for seeing in this what is there, it makes me feel good to know that someone who doesn't know the people in it at all can see this.

    Wonderful

Although very dark in a sense of memories of your friend, what I liked about this piece was the twist of hope at the end. The closing line was full of suspense, and left the reader lingering on wonderous thoughts. It reminded me of the waiting to meet someone new, possibly off of the internet due to the use of 'pixels' etc. It shines hope in the darkness of his broken home. But, I guess it could be completely different...

My most favourite part was the 'convenient pawn' line. You used the meaning well; a man being moved whenever to wherever, to suit someone's needs.

Excellent work, I hope all works out for your friend.
