As I start to pray each evening,
a voice always calls out to me,
it is the voice of Jesus Christ,
although I hear Him I can not see.
The Lord has come to talk with me,
He will listen to all my prayers,
I start to pray for my dear friend,
to take away all his woes and cares.
Another friend needs a prayer tonight,
to keep the devil from his door,
the Lord tells me it will be done,
pray and keep your faith like before.
His presence fills me with passion,
my arms are reaching out to him,
He tells me to be patient in learning,
that my gifts from Him will now begin.
I am overwhelmed by all God's glory,
He gives me strength to face each day,
my prayers sustain me as I stumble,
as I pray to keep the devil away.
There is so very much to understand,
Lord let me know all about Thee,
I will give myself to you completely,
in return you have promised eternity.

Thank you so much Charles for the warm and wonderful comment. I love sharing my love for Jesus Christ. I am so happy when people enjoy reading of our Lord. That is how I found the Lord. It all started from reading a poem and then the conversation that eventually led me to Jesus began. You never know where God is leading us. He is everywhere. I hope I reach someone with my poetry as Jason (live4eternity) did for me. It has been a long journey to God's door but so worth it. His love is just like the song says, it's "Undescibable". Absolutely beautiful!
Sandy, I feel so special, I am first to comment on the beautiful writing this morning. This just touches me so deeply, I have a prayer in the evening that I end my day with, the beginning goes: As the sunset fades into the horizon, my day of activity fades as well. I cherish these quiet moments to reflect upon my day...... anyway my friend I won't go on, this just reminds of this. Sandy your giving heart is so expressed in this, you start by praying for others to relieve their sorrows, it's such a beautiful write, one of my favorites I must say.
