If your sky looks a little dark and gray,
when nothing seems to be going right,
get on your knees and pray to the Lord,
He can make your skies sunny and bright.
If fate has always be unkind to you,
and everything in life turned out wrong,
get on your knees and pray to the Lord,
happier days will soon come along.
When sorrow makes you tired and weary,
and you no longer have a reason to live,
get on your knees and pray to the Lord,
He will love you and will always forgive.
When your problems seem overwhelming,
and you feel no one else understands,
get on your knees and pray to the Lord,
His love is waiting to take your hand.
What ever problem you have, big or small,
there is only one thing you need to do,
get on your knees and pray to the Lord,
His love is always there waiting for you.
Author notes
I truly believe in the power of prayer and that God does listen no matter how small or how monumental they may be. He listens to everyone because He loves all that He has created.

Wonderful. There you go, back to the basics and words to live by "He can make your skies sunny and bright." It is amazing that there are times we know this is true, and times when we are blinded to the fact that the creator is prime, unfalabe, and self defining... and we are not. Thanks for the reminder.

Thank you Ann, I thought of this poem when I was sitting here praying for someone. It takes such little time and can mean so much to others. Take care and God Bless you, Sandy

Lovely Sandy, and I agree that in each stanza saying "pray to the Lord" just reinforces the power of prayer. I couldn't do it without him myself, for each and every little thing. You have been blessed my friend, your writes are so inspiring, gives the reader a feeling of amazing strenght in our Lord. Have a wonderful day filled with His blessings, Love, Ann

This is too true. On a more critical note, I like the way the stanzas repeat 'pray to the Lord' in the same place every time. This really re-enforces the message of the poem.
