Messed Up Oasis

How many special people change, how many lives are living strange
Where were you when I was starting to cry
Look into the wall of my mind's eye
You think you know but you don't know why
There is one thing they can never give me
Their hearts can never be my home
They're trying hard to put me in my place and they don't think it's a pity
I hitched a ride with my soul by the side of the road
As I face the sun I cast no shadow
Don't go away, tell me what to say, but say for me to stay
I don't need time, no I don't need time just to do things wrong
I feel a little down today and they've got much to say
Life is hit and miss, and this
And baby after all, they'll always forget my name
Need a little time to wake up, wake up
I've gotta say what I say, but everyone always gets in my way
This is all too much for me to take
Everybody knows and they're all saying something
And I'm a sound so very loud that no one can hear
I am like a child with nothing to lose but my mind
My mind

Author notes

Written in September 1997. Oasis fans will see that it is a collection of lyrics messed up. But it is also how I felt at the time.

Wouldn't want you to lose your child there, glad you got it out of you so you could attain this state of inner creative childhood potential again. Damn people, damn world, fuckin' eh. I'm so loud too that people don't hear me it's so silent within and loud without that I sometimes wonder what the use of even being here is when there is so much inner peace that is untapped we are cultural mongrels we can't stay in one place and so we wander from place to place seeking the eternal fucking solution but I hate crowds and I hate people and I hate the life that this world has forced us to live so I will stay with my deafening roar of silence for now and hope that you can stay with this state that you have invoked within me and I wish you well.
