Willow, Willow, What for do You Weep?

Willow, willow, what for do you weep?
When the grass is green 'round you
And the birds sing so sweet?

Willow, willow, what for do you weep?
When children play 'neath you
Hidd'n in your hollow keep?

Willow, willow, what for do you weep?
In life giving rain
As you drink from roots so deep?

Willow, willow, what for do you weep?
In the harvest's gold sun
As you watch farmers reap?

Willow, willow, what for do you weep?
You weep for loves lost
This pain is so deep
And that is why the willow does weep.

Hence, I have always "wondered...!" This is uniquely clever; I really like this one, thank you...

I just had to read another one of your poems after that last one, and I must say I wasn't let down! You really do have a way with words. Great write, and I can't wait to read some more of your work
