Rest In Peace

"Rest In Peace Grandpa."

They say I didn't know you.
They don't understand why I miss you so much.
They really don't understand why I was close to you.
They say I didn't know you.
But here is what I say.
I say that I knew the guy you became.
No, I didn't know the man you used to be.
The man everyone else knew.
I knew the man that God had finally touched.
No one hated you. They all forgave you for things in the past.
They all knew you were only human.
The Chaplin said that the song I sang before you died, and at your funeral was your favorite song.
Now when I hear "Amazing Grace", I break apart.
They told me that the man next curtain from you,
was also soothed as I sang to you.
Grandpa, God was there with me and he waited to lead you home.
Tell Mom I said I love her.
"Rest In Peace My Dear Grandparents."
