Just Allow It

Strange, sweet man,
Supposed ‘Phantom’

A comforting shadow,
Some hidden hope

Off with the mask,
Down with the façade

You need not hide,
Not from the likes of me

I, one who has been scorned
Abandoned, left alone
Left alone, left to die

Left alone for so long,
I learned to be lonely
Learned all too well

But, unlike you, I will not hide
Not behind a mask, not like that
I exist, however, only in the shadows

Normally, no one knows me
Usually, no one sees me
Most times…no one cares for me

You and I, you said so yourself
We are in the very same boat
We think alike…so much alike

You showed me compassion
I showed you acceptance
You can fit in, you see?

Just allow it…

A very nice piece penned here. Reminds me of when I was back in high school. I didn't fit in, but I eventually found some others who didn't fit in either, and we started belonging together, on the outside of the in crowd.

We always knew Razz was stranger than appeared...this just proves it's more so than that.
