Jonah And The Whale

The Lord spoke to Jonah and told him to rise,
go cry out in the city against the wicked ones,
that speak so much wickedness against me,
now go to the city to see what can be done.

But instead Jonah left the presence of the Lord,
he went to the city of Jappa down by the sea,
paying his fare to sail to the city of Tarshish,
leaving the Lord , he was behaving disobediently.

So the Lord sent out a great wind into the sea,
the waves began swirling and moving violently,
the boat filled with water and not wanting to sink,
they threw their wares overboard reluctantly.

All this time Jonah was asleep down below,
the ship master asked Jonah to call on the Lord,
some one had brought all this evil upon them,
they cast lots to see who brought the evil aboard.

Well the lot fell to Jonah, he said, I fear the Lord,
the God in Heaven who made the sea and the land,
they were afraid and said, what have you done,
why did you flee the Lords loving hands?

Jonah said pick me up and toss me into the sea,
then the waters will be calm once more for you,
but instead they rowed hard towards the land,
pleading to the Lord for what they should do.

They picked Jonah up and threw him into the sea,
then they made vows to the Lord for a sacrifice,
the Lord had a fish swallow Jonah up,
he was in the fish's belly for three days and nights.

I thought of the Veggie Tales version of Jonah when I read this. Jonah is one of my favorite stories and I think of it then I know God is telling me to do something and I try to shove it under the rug. Well done!

That is so nice for you to tell me. It is so rewarding to my faith in Jesus Christ that He is using me as a tool. This past month He has blessed me with gifts I now share. The passion of my love for Him is overwhelming and I must share all the love and happiness God fills my heart with everyday. I never want to lose this passion I feel for Him. It is undescibabe. God Bless you Chris. Take care, Sandy

In tribulation Sandy, yes, I’m not to give in to defeat but proclaim and spread his joy and love. He’s working through us two, (you me) to get clear messages over to me, of this I’m sure. We’re often used as channels without ever knowing, dear me I am glad I came here today, many endless a blessings unfolding today. God Bless.

I hope your either going to expand this or do a part two...for
I have a fishy feeling that all's whale that ends whale...hehe

    Hugs...Eddy

I see you do some of the same things as me when you are in a hurry to get something down before it slips away. I often transpose words like in line 4 stanza 3 through (threw) sometimes I even skip words entirely...lol...I would also drop
the s in line 3 speak(s). I once kidded someone that I should rewrite the bible into verse and got a lot of slack for it, but I think it would make it a more interesting read in some areas especially the begetting areas...
