The Dream

I had a dream one night
But I didn't remember the storyline
All I could recall
Was a scene

A girl
Golden brown hair to her shoulders
eyes closed
mouth slightly open
as if interrupted
while telling a terrible
secret
unconscious
her hair and limbs
strewn about
like a marionette
her brown and green clothing
ripped to shreds
hanging off her poor injured frame

Her hands

Thin, frail, fragile
Relaxed as if letting go of something tightly held
for years and years

A boy
Mud browned hair hanging in his face
His eyes open
staring at his destroyed surroundings
staring at the grey sky
staring at the girl
kneeling at her side
picks up
her hand
the sleeping hand
he does not see
the dagger that is in her hand
the unseen dagger that holds the silvery blood
of fear
he cried
for the end of children's innocence
he cried
to the newly falling snow

Author notes

This really did happen in my dream. Don't ask me where it came from I do not know.

Great Imagery! Love the description you give of how the people look... I can never remember my dreams so clearly... I do think they make great poems though... Mid-terms weren't so bad... Good Luck in science tomorrow!!!!
