~~Autumn~~

~In the early days of autumn
When the leaves have barely turned
And smoke drifts though the valleys
From all the fields that have been burned
I find i am restless
And i'd really like to go
To a place so inviting
Until i have to face the snow
But it's not a time for leaving
And my duties are quite clear
Autumn chores are waiting
Before winter comes this year
in the early days of autumn
There's a scent in the air
It coaxes me to wander
In the woods so cool and fair
The squirrels are gathering nuts
Birds are moving on
To start a journey south
As they sing their farwell song~

You present Autumn in such an intriguing manner
that softens the leaving of fresh, green Summer!

Oh, I really do like this - it is so lovely and lyrical, and so descriptive of the beautiful autumn season. The "scent" of autumn is so invigorating and inviting. I especially love the smell of leaves burning, even though my wife can't stand it. It is like sweet incense to me, and brings back many happy childhood memories. Thanks for posting this lovely poem about my favorite time of year.

    best wishes,
    Moses

T'is so odd seeing this time of the year and feeling it's character so well. Here we are coming into the most beautiful spring, buds, birds, the sounds. I loved the verbal painting, so vivid. Thank you -tj-
