In the silence of the night
Snowflakes twirl to the ground
Weaving winter wonderland
As they fall without a sound~
The snowbird sings his winter song
Quite merrily
While glistening snowflakes sparkle
Nearby on the holly tree~
Snowflakes, tiny pristine petals
Coverlets of white
Magically transforming hillsides
In scenes of sheer delight~
I gaze out my window
and whisper a silent prayer
Thankful for all the beauty
As glistening snowflakes fall
Outside,everywhere~
Snowflakes twirl to the ground
Weaving winter wonderland
As they fall without a sound~
The snowbird sings his winter song
Quite merrily
While glistening snowflakes sparkle
Nearby on the holly tree~
Snowflakes, tiny pristine petals
Coverlets of white
Magically transforming hillsides
In scenes of sheer delight~
I gaze out my window
and whisper a silent prayer
Thankful for all the beauty
As glistening snowflakes fall
Outside,everywhere~
Author notes
Was at my moms last night and the snowflakes started falling as I gazed up at the streetlight, looked over at the nearby hill and it was dusted in a sparkling white, thus inspired the poem

The poem is beautiful and it goes perfect with my painting. If you would like to use any of my other paintings please send a reply or email me from the link at my website: bkpaint.com, and I would be happy to extend permission.

Oh sweetie! I just love this. Your words paint a beautiful picture all by themselves, but ad the image and oh my... it pure exquisiteness. You have done a awesome job here.

Sweet Susan,
As I sit here readying my shopping list for those delights which one MUST have to truly enjoy a snowstorm, your words describe so well the scene I am hoping to see outside my window soon (well, unfortunately no hills here but...)
The serenity your words paint entices me to read more of your work, but ... alas, as you've reminded me, I need to gather my bird treats as well.

So Beautiful
A fitting picture for such a beautiful poem, Susan. Normally, I would be looking out my window at the same scene this time of the year here in Washington State. Instead, for the last 3 days it's been up to 69 degrees, snow in the mountains little and melting fast. Strange weather but very much in keeping with prophecy.
In my part of the forested world, snow on the ground and clinging to the trees creates what I feel looks like a fairyland. Since I don't have it, you painted it for me with your wonderful talent.
Love and hugs, Bon

Beautiful
You do nature poems very well. You made me forget about shoveling LOL and remember that winter and snow do hold such beauty as expressed in this piece.
This is well-penned and the image goes very well with your words. Beautiful presentation

Wonderful. You still have a knack for describing nature. Snow was falling here last night only my thoughts were how's this going to effect my commute. I like your grateful attitude much better. Rub some of that off on me, please.

lovely
We do not get snow where I live that sticks for any length of time and it rarely covers the ground before melting. But I remember the white magic of winter wonderlands when I was a little girl. There is literally no silence quite like it, nor the excitement that comes with the first fall. Hugs, Klassy -
You paint a winter picture nicely, Molly,
with nicely chosen words and pretty rhyme
but your meter's just a little rough, by golly,
so I'll have to read it through a second time.
Well may be I can now see what your scheme is
and why some lines are short of a few 'beats'.
The pudding isn't always where the cream is
and anyway I try to keep off sweets.

Just because my witchdoctor said I have to watch my cholesterol
I deprive myself of the pleasure of pigging out on desserts but that has nothing to do with your poem which I applaud.
Love and hugs, XXX Hugh. -
This is beautiful sis. Capturing the magic of the snowflakes. All we've had lately is gray, gray and guess what...more gray.
Always love your poems sis.

I love when it snows (as long as it's no more than 4 to 6 inches). You've painted a beautiful winter scene here..enjoyed the rhyme..Very nicely done, Sis!

Sis, this is so lovely, but I also had it read to me by the author, thank you, hehehe. This is such a lovely picture you have painted, and the pic with it is so perfect...can't wait, hopefully the picture you have painted so exquisitely here will be outside my house this week! Lovely in every way! Love and hugs Ann

You words made it possible for me to see the frosty snow falling by the street light. I haven't been able to see it yet this season. You did a wonderful job making the picture so beautifully vivid.
