Missing image

~by Gregg Rowe~

If I extend my hand
and you refuse;
it is not my fault
if you lost a friend.

    Very good point- sometimes people refuse friendship for whatever reason. But you can't let it hurt you. You show a lot of character and strength with this. It is indeed THEIR loss for you are a good person, and a good friend.
    The only thing I'd change is the second "if" to a "that".

    **** (four stars)

    beautiful as always Gregg... I really love its simple directness. The way it says so much with only a few words.

    Dear Gregg,
    ~~~
    If you extend your hand, I'll not reject it
    But I will grasp it with a firm intent
    And clasp it strongly, as you would expect it.
    I'll treat it with the friendship that was meant.
    ~~~
    A splendid quote. Applause and regards. Hugh.

    Useful, very Useful

    I like how simple this is. It really struck as me as pointful, because I have a lot of friends who say they are my friend, hate me, and try to be my friend still. It's vexing, but I'm trying to sort things out, and I think I might refer them to this poem because they frequently refuse my hand of friendship, then when I have withdrawn it they beg me for it back, then I offer it again and it gets pushed away. Thank you so much. Gregg, you're an inspiration to me, and hopefully to all the world.

    This is a quote i adore...maybe because i dont have all that many freinds. Of all the amazing things in the universe, sunrises and sunsets; the stars in the heavens...the thing that still amazes me the most, is when someone offers me their hand in friendship. i dare not refuse, i may not get another chance. Blessings and best wishes, ~richard

    Border is beautiful. I was obsessed with unicorns and pegasus' when I was a kid, lol. I love this. We can only do so much to attempt to help, and if we are rebuffed time and time again, then there is not much more we can do with our offer being ignored.

    Jacki: We must have connected beccuase I saw you online and was starting to pen something and this came through, I hope you enjoy this little quotes from my journals that I have salvaged and posted here, only 27 so far but I am to find more. I am back and enrgized more than ever, though I still have pain and water retention in my legs...but we won't alk of that. Everyday is just a gift for me and I have two weeks holidays before we start the next year of treatments (the whole purpose of the operation) and aim to come out full steam boat ahead. I have missed you and your comments and am sort of intrigrading myself back into the site although I can only still spend one or two day s on. The day will come when I can be here more like in the past, but each visit still brings smiles and peace to me. Gregg

    I liked this. It was very good. I feel the same way about a few of my friends. If they are going to push me away when I need help, then what's the point?

    Always and Forever,
    ~Kendal
