Quotable Quotes 15: On Being a Writer/Poet

Missing image
~by Gregg Rowe~

Have you ever been in a room
full of self-proclaimed writers
who are so egotistic
about their work
that you just want to bury yourself
in the glass of red wine you're holding
and drown in the liquid?

Author notes

My first reading of poetry at a café that was sponsored by my university professor:  she filled the audience that evening with published authors -- talk about a nerve-wrecking evening for an amateur just coming out.

LOL! No, but I'd love the chance if it meant I was also published! And hey, wine is good.

You never cease to amaze me with your musings. That must have been terrible LOL. I'd hate to have to prove my talent to so many people with extraordinary talent of their own. I'm sure you were fine though, hunn. They must have been jealous .
