Quotable Quotes 04: On Receiving My Annual Flu Shot

Missing image

~by Gregg Rowe~

snow flutters outside
first sign of winter
flu shot injected
seasonal survivor
another victorious winter?

Author notes

I penned this in my journal the day I discovered that the flu shot vaccination would only be 50% effective this year because they were made before another strain was discovered to be visible.

I never take the shot and rarely get a cold or the flu. ~knocks on wood~ I have not trusted the government and their inoculations since the Tuskegee syphilis study here where they allowed 399 Black men to die to see if Blacks and Whites responded to the disease in the same way. Of course I wasn't alive when it all began in 1932, but I certainly was when it ended in 1972. I know some poeple who are the children and grandchildren of those men. Not me, no shots! I do however understand the tongue-in-cheek humor of this one. I am having a ball with these.
