Answered Prayer

Missing image
We have all been there....
desperate to get away..unwind
relax to the point of oblivion

Daily stresses taking their toll
in wearing down the mental and physical
abilities

Desires to ignore...switch off
or just be down right rude
scramble through a tired mind

Chores seem to take twice as long
as normal... aggravating an already
fraught scenario

Throwing caution to the wind..and with
minds made up we took the plunge...

and booked two weeks in the sun.......

    Well Done

Very nicely captured. Yes we have all been there and what a wonderfully soothing thought of 2 weeks in the sun. I would give anything to be out from under all this snow right now. I love the line "relax to the point of oblivion" ahhhhhhhh how blissful that sounds. I liked the tone of this and the way you built up the every day frustration to the crescendo of a vacation. I found it very unique in style.

Well in answer to your question....No, I dont normally pray for trivial things but I do have to admit to a "Longing" for something along these lines ...Many thanks for your kind comments

    Nice

I like your poem. I think that your prayer that you had answered is pretty neat. Did you really pray for sunshine and beaches? Just wondering. Anyways, keep penning away.
