Joke me something awful just like kisses on the necks of "best friends"
We're the kids who feel like dead ends
And I want to be known for my hits, not just my misses
I took a shot and didn't even come close
At trust and love and hope
*And the poets are just kids who didn't make it
And never had it at all*

She smiles like shes so tough
She says
*"hey can you talk a little louder,
I don't think my heart is broken enough"*
But someday we'll all be old
And I'll be so damn beautiful

And last night's dirty clothes
Were on the floor next to the phone
And it's been disconnected months ago
No calls from your friends back home
You lost your point of view and now
