in contrast to the rest of the poem, i find the last line quite haunting, obsessive. It's a funny poem, but it ends on an odd note, and I think that's probably the best part of it.

this was a fun poem there are so many different ways to think of this poem and i think the best part is trying to find out what e.e. cummings was thinking when he did this poem its just so fascinating in my opinion

    may I feel said he?

very clever ...indeed! I like this playful side of e.e. cummings...this is what poetry and life should be about...play...serious play...perhaps!

I had a lot of fun reading this out loud to myself...it is very lyrical. I also feel like I just witnessed an affair and I need to share about it :-) Happy Valentine's Day!

Oh e. e. cummings, how we love you! So simple and yet so profound: to get a tryst boiled down to so few words. But it is a lot like that, isn't it?

    for which one said she?

Well that's why Cummings wrote the poem and not me, lol. As odd as it is, it's more pleasant than a lot of his stuff to read.

well that was a little awkward. its like the poet is trying to go two different ways with this.

I love this poem, it is an adulterated poem, that makes you think.

Some of the brackets seem out of place. I think their use is unnecessary and disruptive to the dialogue which is crafted with wit and understanding.

    My all time favorite poem!

I think this is a great poem. It is different from any other poem, and the passion that He and She feel for each other is so powerful, that you can feel it only by reading the title of the poem. "May I feel?" Hah, what a stupendous question...love it, it's brilliant.

This is a very nice dialogue between he and she. I think they both are a bit naughty and romantic too. The poet has given an edge to she. Very sweet poem.

I can see why you said you have always especially liked this one Kimberly. I will start here then to read some of the old poets that way we can bounce interpretations off of one another. Thank you for helping find my way around here. I probably never would havevisited if you hadn't pointed out some of the good things here. This is wonderful, just like you said.

This is one of my absolute favorites. The back and forth banter always puts me into a fit of giggles. I can picture this perfectly in my mind, being played out in a movie scene at in a darkened corner of a cafe. I couldn't help but look at see if you guys had it posted here. Great job Old Poetry team!

This is so cheeky and I love it. It has a hint of 'naughtiness' about it, the banter between the two people is almost comical.
    I enjoyed reading this.
