Old, Old Men! I feel that someone young is seeing these men My imagination ran wild here. I hear the men speaking of their youth, but also perhaps of their women and children as men don't usually refer to themselves as 'beautiful'. they could of course be referring to their 'youth'. either way I like this poem very much. So much truth here: "one by one we drop away".

This poem has a lovely 'feel' to it. The rhythm is so comforting and read out loud it's one of those poems that can be read more than once and the enjoyment seems to build. I've so enjoyed this. Von

A nostalgic return to a place so important during the war to this character. The pride, the love of this place is palpable. It so obviously meant so much to the author of this poem, unfortunately not known.
