OldunclewoolyShow poetry

I am a fifty year old texas born artist. My poetry is nothing more than self imposed therapy. Every day of my life is spent in pleasing others, doing things how and when others dictate to me. I am no longer able to paint for my own pleasure, but at the demands and whims of others. Sucess is a cruel master I have found. So I now find release in my poetry... as it sometimes feels as if it's all I have that's really my own. I suffered a mild heart attack a while back and I feel as if I'm being deprived of everything. I cry out to the Gods " What is life without a good cigar or a greasy bacon cheeseburger? " They have also had the audacity to tell me sex is bad for me as well,  but there are a few things in life I refuse to give up. Or I will refuse to give up, given the opportunity. I am as single as I can be and hoping to change that someday. There is someone I dream about having a life with, but I doubt that it will ever happen as she is unable to love me as more than a friend. As my friend I know she will worry about me, pray for me and always be kind and helpful in every way. She offered to come care for me after my heart attack a while back and perhaps my refusal hurt her. If it did I'm truly sorry, but I need a mate, not a nurse.
I don't think my poetry has any style to it, just the ramblings of a tired frustrated man, and I'm always pleased and surprised when someone likes or appreciates it. Feel free to comment and criticise all you want. I'm a hopeless insomniac, ususaly online when the rest of the world is sleeping.  But now the sun is up and as I'm nearly finished with my heart healthy oatmeal,I think I'll go back to bed and dream of bacon and eggs. Take care everyone, Rick
