As I write this I stare at a page with colors of black, blue, peach and white.
I sit in the dark of my house, lying on the couch with my laptop resting upon my chest and I'm told by a prompt on the page to "describe myself".
Describe myself.......?
No. There's nothing to describe...
But I will begin and end with a question. Why do YOU write? What are these 'feelings' that we get inside ourselves that rage so endlessly to the point that the only way we find we can expend them is through a pen and paper, or typing it out in its truest and most raw form?
Why do we do it?
Are we hoping to relate to somebody, something...anything? As writers are we looking for fame and fortune to the likes of Stephen King, or J.K. Rowling?
Or do we write, to hide away our most indelible thoughts and fears - sexual fantasies, rights, wrongs and abuse carried about or against us onto a notebook we keep beneath our beds?
I don't have the answers for everyone. The reason why "I" write, is because I like knowing that through a few simple words I can give emotion to somebody else ANYWHERE in the world.
I can make them angry, sad, happy, sympathetic, apathetic, EMPATHETIC...or anything ELSE...and how?
By throwing a few words together on a screen - describing how I feel.

Life to me, is a series of noises. It's a panging sound, and a barely audible yell in the distance. It's car horns that are laid upon by angry monkeys, and heavy bass from apartment buildings blaring music. It's a cellphone r28 lines, 1 comment, May 18

Rain kissed the pavement last night between damp breezes, as we walked across the lot. The residual smell of car fluids and water on a heated ground left a bad scent in our noses and a bad taste in our mouths.32 lines, 3 comments, May 18

I don't approve of Kevin's new " Everyone see's our favorites list " feature.

You may go here to read more....Don't worry , You're still going
to be featured on my authors page , but I feel that some of my hard
earned rights as a poet and reader are being taken away.
Change is good , But not at the cost of people's opinions...
Sorry , But this is how I feel , I will have to use the hard way
and check back from time to time on all my favorites from my
page.
Much respect and love to you ,

slaughter on November 15, 2004I have heard a lot about your poetry around this site, good things, very good things. I will have to read some later on today and leave some good honest comments, right now I haven't slept for twenty four or more hours so I am not in my best commenting mood, but I will be back later.

Barbie on October 2, 2004I had a lovely comment from you on one of my stories and stopped by to check your author page and just wanted to let you know that (although I disagree with you on some accounts
) those words are incredibly beautiful and I'm glad that at least one person only sees poetry as a beautiful work of art. Barbie. Xx
