I have enjoyed writing Poetry and Short Stories since High School and College.
I am the mother of three wonderful children..2 sons ( one a Metro North
Railroad track inspector..and the other a Chemical and Environmental Engineer.)
My daughter is a Supervisory Probation Officer for the Department of Probation in the City Of New York..
I taught High School in New York City and later owned a Catering and Event Planning Company .( also trained Models for country wide fashion shows)
The Art of Writing Poetry is both a learned and creative experience..Both are needed to allow one to become a respected author..( I have quite a way to go)
I am still dealing with the learning process and I believe that will be aided by the remarks and critique of those that choose to read my pieces..
At 71 years of age I still have the desire to become more proficient with each passing day..
Perhaps it takes me a bit longer to produce a piece that I feel is worthy of being read, but it is my desire to give to readers the best that I can..and so I do not produce as many Poems or stories as I would like.
I hope to continue to enjoy my participation on this site as a Gold member..
I still have much to learn concerning the working of this site..but I am enjoying the process....
Although I know I will never be able to match the works of those writers of long ago...I like the word usage of those long established Poets and Writers....so often, I do take a bit of Poetic license to get a specific message across..
Thanks for reading my life history (or at least a part of it )..I apprecaite it...

my3doggies on November 9, 2006Thank you so much for those very pleasant comments. If I can be an inspiration to a young person that makes me especially glad.
Through the years I have found that there is always something in the back of a person's mind they would love to accomplish.
I believe that we should always strive to do those things.
It is a wise person that realizes there may be things that cannot be changed, but that does not mean we stop trying to do the best we can at what we can do.
If writing is your what you want, don't hesitate to continue writing always remembering the more you do anything the better you will become at it.
I thank you again for your comments, if there is anything I can ever help you with on this site don't hesitate to ask.
Take Care and I wish you much success in your life. -
GiveMeTheGun on November 9, 2006you are definately an inspiration.. i read your profile, i was drawn in by your username. it's encouraging to see that not everyone produces 4 poems a day and still gets good critiques.
i'm only 19, and while i have a long long ways to go, i still work on myself, and accepting the things i cant change, but also working hard on the things i can.. i want to make a difference, but now i'm working on making a good one. you've done so much in your life, i can see by reading thosefew paragraphs.. as i said, you're an inspiration.
take care, laterz

my3doggies on October 3, 2006Thank you so much for you warm wishes,I really appreciate it very much Yes, she has had 3 miscarriages and she lost her son.He was born with a diaphramatic hernia, after 4 surgeries he developed sepsis (blood infection)and passed away. He remained in the hospital from birth, and was six and a half months old when he passed away.He was such a handsome little boy, and he would try to smile, even when we knew he was in pain. He was in Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City
She is 44 years old now, and says she would not try again. It is sad though, she and her husband really love children. Stephanie gets so upset when she hears of mistreatment of a child and has 4 God-children. Life does not always give us what we want, but we have to go one. I am sure if you know the feeling, then you know life must go on..
Thanks again and God Bless...
