My poetry is much like my artwork: random and not guided by anyone else's hand but my own. I do alot of free verse poetry, the subtle rhymes and rhythms speaking in their own language in my head. Occassionally I'll actually make an attempt at form poetry, but I find it restricting. I'll label myself 'expressionistic' because i'm not worried about painting a picture for you, i'm more concerned with the emotions coming through and maybe perhaps touching readers in some small way.

Measuring the wealth of years
Trapped in the eyes of youth
Gazing into the spheres of light
Remembering old sorrows...
Across horizons far and vast in the mind
Near the edge of oblivion, your soul teeters
Over the sheer density of darkness, yet
Light remains a force of inimitable strength
Augmenting fears of the fall.

tomisb on December 24, 2005Good Morning, Good Morning! Merry Christmas, Baby! Come dance this laughing, unwrapping day with me. Listen to the crinkling sounds of paper and ribbons beneath our feet. Walk forward into the New Year as each day endlessly unwrapps it presents for you. Balance yourself in this blue sky smile and spin, arms wide, loveing the day. Love, Tom B.
