MisanthropicjoyShow poetry

It would seem narcissistic to write out a full-blown autobiography, so I'll start you off with the basics.

My name: I'm known by "Jolly," "Mrs. Waffles" or you can just make cute nicknames off of my screename. I don't mind, really. Just don't ask for my real name, it's private.

Location: Lost in the realms of Ohio. (Don't hold it against me.)

Married/Children: Neither, but in the near possible future. I've been told I'd make a good mother, but not at my age.

Sexual Orientation: Bisexual, predominantly lesbian.

Single?: Nope. Ironically enough, I have a boyfriend.

Religion: I'm not an athiest in the fullest "nothing happens after you die" sense, but I still have no religion. Rather, I see the concept of religion as compensation for a lack of security and sense of order, and, in most major world religions, a means of fueling a hunger for power and dominion over other human beings. (the concept of a Pope, etc) So, to break away from the human tendancy to succumb to the tempt of an imaginary sliver of hope religion offers, I proudly declare myself unreligious. With that said, I do not completley dismiss the concept of there being a possible higher being, or, in more vague terms, an element of knowledge about the universe that will never be covered in the realms of science. But, in my belief, no human being could fully understand the definate truth of the big "God" question. (I'm talking to you, Christianity) It's vain and irrational to feel as though we know the answer when the human race is so very naive, if not downright idiotic... If what I just said baffles you, I'm basically a militant agnostic. For those of you beating your face in with a Bible in attempts to find the meaning of life, I can imagine you're pretty PO'ed at what you just read. Honestly, I don't really care who/what/if you worship, and, to me, tolerance is the key to tranquil diversity. Just don't shove your opinions down my throat in attempts to change my views: my mind is made up, as is yours.

Favorite Writers: Paul Dunbar, Edgar Allan Poe, Maya Angelou and whoever wrote "The Labyrinths of Reason"

Favorite Artists: Camille Rose Garcia, "Sliver" (very VERY obscure, but definatley my favorite), a gentlemen whose name I cannot currently remember that made a piece called "Lush" that I fell in love with... several, obscure others.

Favorite Comedians: Gabriel Iglasias, George Carlin, Woody Allen, and some Steve Martin.

Favorite Music: HUGE Nine Inch Nails fan (before Trent Reznor got sober, that is.) Other than that, M.I.A., Asylum Street Spankers, David Bowie, Pet Shop Boys, Arcade Fire, Morrissey, Disturbed, Jeff Buckley, Alien Fashion Show, Bob Mould, They Might Be Giants, Tori Amos, Tracy Chapman, and several, several, others.
