MikepattonisgodShow poetry

My name is Josh. I'm from Leeds, the so called 'fastest growing city in the UK'. I write. Constantly. Whether it's song lyrics, some kind of poetry, some sort of rambling passage of vexation/observation/need/personal stuff, I'm ALWAYS writing. I have notebooks and diaries and all kinds of bits of paper floating around my room covered in scribblings and doodles and all the usual tools of the insane.
But it's mainly about lyrics for my band, Citadel. Check it out at www.myspace.com/citadelyorkshire
There's nothing more I love than music. It's all I want from life. I have no concept of careers in the outside world. It's all about this band. As long as I have music, friends, booze, the odd recreational drug, paper, pen and a stereo system, I'm good. Oh, and music venues and record stores. Here's a few of the vocalists that sent me insane and do what I do;

Mike Patton (Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, Faith No More, Peeping Tom, Tomahawk, etc.)- One of the greatest vocalists ever. He's basically a musical maverick with such mad talent. A master of voice manipulation. Faith No More at Download 2009 was AWESOME!

Devin Townsend (Strapping Young Lad, The Devin Townsend Band, Steve Vai, etc.)- This guy's an absolute mentalist. I saw SYL in 2006 at the Download Festival for the first time, and it blew me away. From then on, Mr. Townsend has inspired me so much.

Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Superjoint Ritual, Down, etc.)- He's one of the most real vocalists ever. The guy is a a take no crap from anyone sorta guy. His voice has this raw power that you just can't match.

Al Jourgensen (Ministry, Lard, RevCo, etc.)- He's an absolute maniac, who's managed to somehow make some of the best music known to man. Not a very technically trained singer, but still amazingly brutal and raw.

Layne Staley (Alice In Chains)- Need I say more? Just listen to that voice!!

"I'd kill myself for you... I'd kill you for myself."
-Phil Anselmo, 'This Love' (Pantera).

Anyway, peace and love, sex and drugs, booze n music, etc.
You love it.
