Words come to me very easily. I dont really know why. They just do.
My name is Ben and when I'm bored, i write.I scribe even when I'm not bored, come to think of it. Mostly, i make poems. I like how you can use metaphors and other images to create more emotions. Which is why I don't agree with the saying, "Actions speak louder than words." Words are the fundamental basis for communication. And without communication, how can you possibly follow through with actions, which are an effect of a cause? Wow...tangent.
My pen name is called mahogany BENches. It incorporates my name and my psuedonym, mahogany. Don't ask; i just thought the name mahogany (no capital M...i like informality) suited my personality and what I want my poems to be one day: classy throughout time!
I live in Washington. And I'm in high school. And I have probably written a notebook full of poems. Once i start writing, it's hard for me to stop. I usually write in Biology class and forget everything the teacher says. So i have to read the chapter she was talking about the night before. I know: I'm dedicated to my writing.
Whether people know it or not, life is always better with expression. When I'm feeling sad or somehow my mind is clouded, I always feel like I have to express myself to relieve the stress I'm feeling. However, being someone who doesn't always like straight-forward answers, I enjoy putting my emotions in a poem and mask meanings. It's really fun to see people read my poems and get a different interpretation than what i intended. I'll be thinking, "Whoa...i never thought of it that way." And then I'll most likely scoff once I realize I wrote the excerpt.
I really don't know what I want to do in my life. The parentals always encourage me to be a doctor, or dentist, or anything that circulates the money! But I've always found a passion in writing. Perhaps a highschool writing teacher? For now, I'm enjoying simply writing stanzas and words (i really don't know any poetic terms...except Iambic Pentameter, which I'll leave with Ol' Bill Shakespeare. I just write).
So that's some basic literature nonsense about me. I'd appreciate if you read and reviewed my poems. That would mean a lot to me. I can't promise that the reviews will make me write more; I write when the emotions hit or when inspiration sparks. But just know that your reviews somewhat determine whether or not I want to make my passion into reality with my future.
NO pressure though...hahaha
peace.
