I've been writing poetry since January 2004. I don't consider myself to possess any true poetic genius. I do however, create based upon my innnermost feelings pertaining to the subject or the time. My expressions are my own and are often simple ramblings. What I write is what my mind has conceived and considers good work. Otherwise, what is the purpose of writing in the first place?
1995

I update my site on a regular basis. My poetry does not focus on one topic, but is a collection of various themes such as related to history, nature, or patriotism. I try to write poetry everyone can read and understand. I avoid the use of million dollar words and prefer to leave them to the most intellectual of poets; of whose work I seldom read or understand. If greatness lies in the ability to write poetry that cannot be enjoyed by all, I elect to pass, and will forever remain an insignificant, happy man.
Some of my poetry like "America Why Did You Stray," "A New Level Of Tolerance," "Too Little, Too Late," and "Unresolved Past," ask the questions I believe need to be asked today. They have nothing to do with patriotism, more as to what happened or how did we allow events to have such a negative impact on todays society.
I hope my poetry is educational and entertaining. I write poetry from the heart and am influenced somewhat by what I see, feel, hear, and to a larger extent, what is gleaned from my minds eye. I believe what the mind can conceive, the pen can achieve. Therefore, enter as a friend; leave as family.

My favorite poem:
TREES
by: Joyce Kilmer (1886-1918)
- THINK that I shall never see
- A poem lovely as a tree.
- A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
- Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
- A tree that looks at God all day,
- And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
- A tree that may in Summer wear
- A nest of robins in her hair;
- Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
- Who intimately lives with rain.
- Poems are made by fools like me,
- But only God can make a tree.
My Quotes:
- At last breath when eyes close to open no more, look into the eyes of the beginning, not into the throat that has no ending.
- What greater honor, that when a man moves forward, he leavesbehind in each of us, the best of what he was.
- Who decided to place a value on anything? When did it become everything? As if placing a value makes it right. Who determined the value of life? When it is only at death value is placed, when you look into the Savior’s face.
- People are culturally unique through the exhibition of external obvious differences, genetically they are the same, therefore, identical.
- We worry much of little things. We show our true selves upon the stage while our mental well-being waits in the wings to make an appearance. When the little things become so massive they cause the play to end, mental well-being no longer in check, insanity, the only thing left.
- Breathe the crisp night air inhaling its fragrance deep; the sweet taste of life.
- Thank God for poets daily writing more and more verse,for delivery on all the world stages; the recording artists of the ages.
- For only through poetry can truth be found, when from the heart, writing is most profound. Thank God for poets, you, who make the world unique, who through verse and prose are heard without having to speak, whose words are the power passed throughout the ages, found in every book ever written with more than two pages.
- Wars not possible if old men are sent to fight.
- Poetry is an association of word placed into structure that weaves majesty and brilliance to create text, immortalizing the paper upon which it is written.
- We can only survive as a society, if we live as a society.
- You are who you are, you cannot change the cards dealt; you must first love you.
- I do not believe God made a mistake when he created man. I believe a mistake was made when he gave man a second chance. I do not believe it will be repeated.
- In war there is sacrifice. A truer lie there may never be, for in war, there is no sacrifice, only the indiscriminate lose of life.
- Under the guise of poverty, arising from the bowels of misfortune, lends the fair hand of fortune to those who look beyond and into the light.
- Glamour is in the eye of the beholder; beauty is the beholder of the eye.
- Mountain peaks draped in full regalia invite not weakness nor strength through shear numbers, it beckons, gaze upon its beauty pristine, untouched, natures grand stand.
- Someday is today, tomorrow, a week, a year, someday may never come, it will just end, it is the day, your life begins.
- As the beginning leads to an end, the end leads to a new beginning.
We believe
life ends
when the heart
ceases to beat.
Why do we
not believe,
life begins
when the heartstarts
to beat?

Gypsy Via Orleans on June 5Hey there, just dropped in to say hi. The Joyce Kilmer poem I first heard in 7th grade. It was one of the poms that made me fall in love with poetry.
