I am Mandy, but my alter ego is m0narch.
Mandy is the person who wishes she could be everything she wants to be, and m0narch is the one with the will to make it happen. I write because I have to. I write mostly lyrics, because they offer structure, and familiarity, yet are still free to be unique. I never really "got" poetry.. as I see it, it's all subjective, and sometimes a little too much for my brain. I like writing lyrics because they are simplified, yet complex enough to make you think.
And I also dream of singing them one day.


My obsessions/inspirations are Mariah Carey, and Evanescence. Also in the inspiration category are Tool, Creed, Linkin Park, Alicia Keys, Staind, Lifehouse, and many others. I would have to say that writing rock lyrics has opened me up to a whole different world. It gives me the chance to express so many more emotions, and situations, rather than sticking to R&B/pop where there are limits. I identify with dark lyrics, and I write darkly most of the time.

Writing has been the only way for me to get anything out in the past 4 years. When I can't think, I write. When I can't cry, I write. When I can't smile, I write.
Like I said, I have to write. It has become me.
Through my lyrics, I have grown, and I continue growing.
