My name is Melanie, and I have been here for three & a half years. I am the mother of two wonderful children, my daughter is nine and my son is seven; they are the light of my life. I am in love with the most incredible man in this world. He has stolen the key to my heart, and cherishes it. Please enjoy the pages I have layed before you about.... my works and I.

 A bit about myself… Well, I have been writing for as long as I can remember. I work at the local police department as a police officer as well as a telecommunicator. Thanks to the Lewis family, I was able to go through the academy. This family, in their time of despair, found courage and love in their hearts to raise money for a scholarship fund. This fund sends applicants, like myself through the academy to become officers. I was the first proud recipient to receive this. This scholarship is loving memory of their son, Thomas c. Lewis. He was brutally murdered here in North Carolina. To know more about this case view the link below:

Shooting Stars

The moon catches hints of hope

   whilst stars tango their way into your heart.

Auras of enchantment glisten,

   beneath bouncing swirls;

      shoot through the night once more,

  and coat our minds with the blanketing

dust of a whispering dream.

Breathless we stand -

   staring in the twilight of

a caramel coated milky way.

                         Lovely woman of grace

                   Untouched by hate

                       Carring only with the

                Kindest of heart

                          You'll feel her presence

                  She'll protect you

                          In the darkest weather 

                         Never letting you down 

                           Cause her rainbow never 

                           Ends upon a clouded sky

                    Rainbows just don't

End   

Soft puddles fill

   with whispered fantasies -

      the taste remains irreplaceable.

Flesh -

  trembling with anticipation

    for the next honey-coated word

  to slide over the tender intersection

of shoulder and collarbone.

Memories build within the echoes

  as bodies tango in indescribable unison.

    Promises are etched into the stone of a lovers’ heart

       and signed with the ink of Forevers’ pen.

She stands guard to her own heart
The Protector of all she holds dear
Her strength shown in her noble chin
Thy enemies shall be torn apart
She will overcome... show a new meaning to fear
Her dignity she shall defend

Scars of the painful past show as a sign
That she has conquered many before
Be fooled not by the sweetness in her lovely eyes
Hands shall kill...as the smile seems kind
The fearless Protector may from afar be adorn
But she has power to bring the thunder from the skies

And as the wind whips violently through her hair
Fire spills from the very smile she had just charmed you with
Know that she is angry... and you shall pay
There is no equal... there is no unfair
A Protector you will believe is a witch
Burning you with a stare brighter than the start of day
