Hi, I’m Amy.
February 11, 2009
I haven't logged on in many years! Something triggered a memory and I took a look to see if all of my writings were still here...and lo and behold; they are!
In 2002, I wrote:
I feel we are all truly lost souls wandering this planet trying to make sense of a complicated world. Even evolved souls are lost in a sense, just closer to finding the way.
I discovered this website by accident because my niece was writing poetry here. After a few visits as a non-member, I got hooked and said “What the heck!” The rest, as they say, is history.
I’ve always enjoyed writing, whether it be fiction or poetry. It just so happens that I really hadn’t written anything much since the 80’s. Busy with work, marriage and then children, it was definitely on the back burner (very back). So, thanks to my niece, I’m finding time to try my hand at writing again. I feel a bit rusty, but it’s all a process.
I was always pretty private about my writing, so I’ve had to get accustomed to the whole online, post-it-for-everyone-to-see thing. But I must say that getting feedback is a big motivator to write more!
For anyone who has critical comments on any of my work, please be ultra specific so I can improve, there's always room for improvement. While in the past, I haven't liked to simply type and submit a poem without re-reading and editing it over and over, I've tried to simply write on the fly at this site and have been amazed at how liberating it feels.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by and posting your much anticipated and appreciated comments!

The shiny rock glistened from the sun’s rays,
I had to look away, it’s brilliance so intense. -

Just wondering if you realized that 'sole' means one, or the bottom of a shoe, and not 'soul', or spirit. If you didn't, you might want to fix your name as to avoid future potential embarrassment. Please don't take this as a hostile post, I just wanted to help you out, just like when you forget to tuck the tag in your shirt, or have a glob of ketchup on your cheek and no one tells you... kind-of thing.

whispernthedark on February 23, 2004Hey. I was always private about my writing too, more because I always got shot down for everything I ever tried to do. If they don't know about it, they can't take it away. I just recently started posting my writing on here, and I feel better than I have in years. Something about the anonymity of it, I think.
take care, and thank you for your kind words

smiley on April 22, 2003Hi Amy,
I am doing well and my knee didn't need surgery.. I am my third week of physical therapy with a sports therapist and it is going well... I can almost bend my knee at its' regular bending and I am walking ten times better... no more crutches or knee brace. It is amazing how God works on us..
Take care of yourself and family
