I have decided to start keeping track of my contest entries that earn trophies. I was looking at my page the other day and realised I really don't remember which of my poems have won what trophies because some are from years back. So, enjoy the reading

she dreams of escape
her mind slips away.

Raging stars shine down upon us,
Fiery, envious passion illuminating tangent love. -
Children run and clutch their hands
catching brand new tiny friends -
The soul cascades to oblivion…
reeling, tumbling down cobblestone steps -
If you sit for an hour or three by yourself upon the beach
The moon seems to slowly fall and the clouds seem in your reach

We would twirl around and in a lilting voice
she would announce, “I think Tchaikovsky, tonight!” -
Have you heard the voice

Shakespeare’s “mid-summer night”. -
Destinations… always unknown
in this cattle drive to mediocre fulfillment -
Hush my children do you hear the sound…
the demonic souls have begun to creep -

If a tree falls in the forest -
Many a time I have stood by your side,
pasting on a mock contented smile, -
She paints the sky in pastel hues;
delicate strokes of magenta, emerald and gold -
Imprisoned within a fractured skull
she is but ivory dust eroding into oblivion.
