This is a new form of poetry that got its start here at AP through a contest I held in early 2007. It is based on the poem by the 17th century Metaphysical poet George Herbert, A Wreath, where a word (or variation thereof) from the end of one line is woven into the beginning of the next. This list includes everything from simple non-rhyming wreaths to wreathed sonnets.

The Wreath actually reminds me a lot of the Pantoum
-
Hi Ribs Out,
I just saw that you came by; thanks for reading.
The pantoum consists of a series of quatrains in which whole lines of each quatrain progressively recur . The wreath only requires that a word from the end of each line (or a variation thereof) recur in the beginning of the next. Wreaths may be unrhymed or rhymed, freestyle or combined with other forms.
If you're interested, why not check out the class here.
All the best,
~ea
