Life came through her garden, humming
ageless songs within her throat. -
wind falls on the cottonwoods
like a soft cool rain -
He drove home a bright blond
kiss still glowing warm -

They sprouted when your soul was new / in dark brown soils where
confusion percolated down to nourish / tiny roots of sentience -
in an ocean of stars
a ballet sun pirouettes -
perhaps adventurous eve felt /
constrained / by the ignorance -
the strain of hogweeds
clung to hillsides like -

and your head swells grotesque
to bursting from your dark black suit -
It won't matter then
when your eyes begin to fade -
These were trees once
tall as the changeling sky -

death will come
slowly quietly -

thin pines stood breathing by -
-
Joy came
whispering through autumn oaks -
We are small yellow suns
suspended together in space -
-
i did not even come to conquer / the death still pits of my fears
though i stood at the precipice / and pondered their hollow depths -

How is it I feel the slight wind even now,
almost breathing on my thoughts, and -
-
Nostalgia is but a hollow wind,
and I a new-grown wood. -
-
in the fallows of your mind
tilled beneath your dreams -
-
It was covered in shrubs, / weaves of poison oak,
and the old fallen branches / of deeply rooted tears. -

-
syncopated snores
crack the varied drones -
your bed will creak with pain
a quiet hopeless rage -
-
-
trunks and boughs
broken into maenad nests ... -
-
razor black talons
aimed at my mind -
now it flails in the wind
an artifact of memory -
Your surprised face fills itself
with the elegance of instinct -
and dreams are set adrift
wafting like scents through the void -
an unstriped snake
convulsing across the mountains -
and i began to tear my flesh
bruise my bones -
between the lines
space expands -
what measure of gravity
never brillianced the heart -
-
your words flash
briefly into view -
silhouettes flash in moments
five shiny black claws tear past my ribs -
His face is smug, arrogant
