The first of my two concept albums (the other being 'Various Shades of Blue').
'Alive Again' will follow the simple story of a day's journey from start to finish with inspiration being drawn from the great green Earth on our doorstep.
I will add the lyrics (many/most of which will work well as poems too) as I finish them, and I'll upload rough versions with instrumental backing as it's recorded. Ultimately this will be a fully fledged album, but the final cut won't be released until I can capably play all the parts as I imagine them right now. Naturally, this is a few years down the line, but I will share simplified versions of every song in the meantime.
Musically and lyrically, influences have so far included Ocean Colour Scene (buy 'Moseley Shoals' if you haven't heard of them and thank me later!), Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Simon & Garfunkel, and The Beatles. Expect upbeat lively tracks, calm reflective numbers and much in between.
Written and performed by myself, Hayden Messenger, with the possible assistance of other musicians on some tracks (I could really do with a drummer).
