Forgiveness will never fall from these lips,
as words crucify with baited breath, -
The windows to her soul,
Outlined black as night, -
As he tells stories of lost love, I do not grow weary,
watching as he lights a candle, his motions almost dreary, -
The tenderness
in your silken words -
This is my fall from grace,
Seemingly marked by wicked fate, -
A child with hands clasped tightly,
Whispers a nighttime prayer, -
Rose grew weary,
As she read of things past, -
Egads! Why couldn't I just have a monkey on my back?3 lines, 3 comments, on May 11 8:51 AM. In Contest

During pursuit the mind races,
as incandescent hearts tangle, -
Truth once woven throughout life,
frayed to the point beyond recognition, -
Destruction falls from her breath,
Visions of cold slabs covered with death, -
Willows
Swaying softly -
Currents of desolation pull me under,
Dark waters of your afflictive actions, -
Branches reaching to the heavens,
basking in the warm amber haze, -
There’s no place like home,
or so they often say, -
Burden, so great wears upon his shoulders,
while frailty chills him to the bone. -
Lingering above the heavens and the stars,
humming songs entwined with memories -
chances
are very good -
The smell of burning timber
unmistakable to the senses, -
Walking among the lines of reality
taking in the pungent smell of cut grass -
The crimson poppies
wait under dark clouds for rain. -
Foreboding looms in needful eyes.
-
They reach for the sun
bathing in the glowing rays -
Upon this once achromatic canvas
picturesque words bleed color -
Fate has a funny way of lifting
wool from blinded eyes. -
Synthetic faces stained with emotion
pouring out words like little candies -
Butterflies greet foreboding
only to be eaten by adrenaline -
My silhouette waits patiently for my next step.
Stretching and turning with grace -
In vast shades of blue,
engulfed in endless motion -

-
A chip off the ol' block,
he marches upstairs with bent brow. -
Dare I dream---
of your fiery words -
Your magnetic words,
blistering these days. -

I stare at you. -

If a smile is what you want,
Then cast off all these tears... -
Sad girl--- why don’t you dry your weeping eyes.
I can’t believe you’re such a mess from all his lies. -
Nostalgic whispers caress,
vague promises held onto tight, -
Now tranquil waters---
dark and nefarious to the eye, -
Money may buy you peace,
but it will never buy my love. -

Conjured
throughout our time -
Maroon stains white cotton
as dreams drain out of her with each step. -
-
Everything just a blur,
my mind has been set into a spin -
Moonlight reflects off the ripples of dark water
waltzing its way to the shore, -
Hope drains out
into mascara streaked hands. -
I walked away so silently, you never even woke
as the gentle waves of freedom wash over me. -

Omens carried upon dark iridescent wings
circling fields where dead bodies lay. -
Warmth follows him closely, like a shadow
whitewashing her eyes before they thaw, -

Apocalyptic clouds
march across burning skies, -
Not simply gray were her eyes,
but a hue inducing psychedelic breathlessness -

The heavy door swings open with a creak
a dusting of snow blows in across the shiny wooden floor, -
Tall and proud, the sunflower stood
soaking in the smoldering cheddar wheel sun, -
Morality exhales into the daydreaming skies,
cajolery flourishing in the pale blush of milkweed. -
Take a hold of my hand

Destruction of the girl, -
The gentle sway of brittle stalks
hiss in the blowing wind, -
The flickering flame of the candle
seemed to send a message in Morse code. -

With sodden wings too heavy for flight,
we plummet into the convulsing grasses -
Seeds of regret planted in ones heart
will blossom due to the continuous watering of the eyes. -
Invigorating
to those once broken, -
Heaven called to her--

Beautiful daisies,
how could it be that your petals predict -
The grass bows to the heaviness of ice
and the sky applauds with flakes of snow, -
