there have been several columns or rants on criticism and the ignore feature, there seems to be a rash of people, who when reacting to a criticism or giving a criticism, get way bent out of shape, I have been guilty of this knee jerk reaction.
Personally I welcome intelligent criticism, and another pair of eyes is often welcome when you can ot see your own errors, thank you all who have helped me this way.
On the other hand, if you are not mature enough to read the reaction to your own
critiques, then perhaps you should not be holding contests. I recent contest on Japanese form went on pompously on syllable counts, when I stated that syllable count , while important is not the only criteria to judge a poem, I got flamed, telling me that
I ought not enter another on of their contest, and implied that the contest was judged poorly. When I suggested that I was responding to her own critique, not in a bad way, but suggesting that she read what she had written I was put on her ignore list. Not a great loss, but the entire process was pointless.
Yep better now rant given, and happily ignored

contest clubs
tow contests both run by very big names seem to promote themselves, by making rules and then not following them or judging on a squed basis, open contest all forms , all rhyme winners?
nother contest very big names four out the five
winners prewrites , several of which had so many trophies they glowed, but new writes over looked
comments on contests, personal in nature, critising with flawed comments on what is true and what is not. Those who must rewrite your wrk to fit their taste, very cranky tonight and I am typing in the dark
