Just listen very quietly you’ll hear upon the breeze
the ringing of a very tiny bell, -
All life on earth is governed by the seasons of the year
both heat and cold are needed to survive, -
She stands and looks toward a distant peak

The first I knew of you was on the screen
with flowing locks and eyes of brightest blue, -
The seat beneath the apple tree, a haven from the heat
an ideal place to wile away the hours, -
we met, early summer
carefree and alone -

pushing his shopping trolley
in the mall -
I still feel the wind in the corn Grandpa

Hell! If I'm this bored now,

This is a poem of magic and love
for Jasmine who’s learning to read, -
He told me I should meet him where the water meets the land
although it’s not a bright and sunny day, -
Ghosts of frozen tear drops float like feathers from the sky
as soft as down from any pure white dove, -
wonder at the sights
of a cold December day -
though frozen in time

The old year soon will leave us and the new will show it’s face
upon the stroke of midnight on this day, -
The bonds grow closer

You know what it’s like when you just hear that tune
the one you don’t like at all, -
You ask for a nightmare, but where do I start,
is it terror that keeps me awake? -
While Mother Nature wears her cloak of gold

There’s a poet that I’ve come to know it’s been just past a year
he’s been my mentor and the dearest friend, -
Remove each layer

Man has many basic needs
to see him on his way, -
Age, time passing all too quickly,
Youth but a fleeting moment -
He sits in his chair all alone in his room
a blanket to cover his knees, -
I try each night before I go to bed
To sit and write some words of love to you -
With arms round each other we stop on the stair
your lips find their goal as you ruffle my hair -
I opened the box and smiled to myself
as memories flooded my mind, -

She applied for the job in her local paper,
Two days a week, hardly slave labour. -
By the gates I waited,
The entrance to the park, -
Christmas lights of red and blue
Twinkle bright for me and you, -
Let us walk along the shore,
Hand in hand, as once before. -
