The English sonnet is 3 stanza's of 4 lines and 1 stanza of 2 lines with a rhyme scheme of abab,cdcd,efef,gg. syllable counts should be of 10 to 12 and iambic pentemeter is normally followed. The first two stanza's describe, the third stanza some sort of action takes place, and the final couplet reaches a conclusion
