A collection of 'Dark Haikus'...
I created the Dark Haiku as a branch off from traditional Haiku that reflects human nature & speaks of the dark thoughts of the psychi in the traditional 5/7/5 form...
I created it simply because I liked the form & could see potential in how it leant itself to darkness & although a few have complained that traditional Haiku is supposed to be about nature & colour, I feel that Dark Haiku is about human nature & colour drains in the darkness...
I wrote my first in May 2008 & posted in June 2008...

Inner demons rage,
Fractured, deluded mindscape. -
Voices in silence,
Dripping blood for shattered dreams. -
Coldest, darkest thoughts,
Cascading delusion’s grasp. -
Bruised, battered ego,
Humbled in twilight shadow. -
Darkest thoughts exposed,
Naked in the light of day. -
Forsaken lost soul,
Adrift amidst darkest thoughts. -
Decaying mindscape,
Beholding spectres unseen. -
Drowning in darkness,
Breath in its pure essence. -
Seduced by madness,
Reality fading fast. -
Baptised in darkness,
Burning souls for sweet release. -
Cutting flesh to feel,
Exquisite pain at my hands. -
Am I the Demon?
So consumed with cold regret, -
Speak to me, my love,
Do we share adoration, -
With thoughts not my own,
I drift like an earth bound ghost, -
As crimson tides bleed,
Tomorrow becomes today, -
Breathless empty shell,
Forfeiting life for fear, -
A pyre of dreams,
Memories turn to ashes, -
Profetic dream states,
Amidst a sea of voices, -
You woke my demons,
There is nothing I can do, -
Eclectic visions,
Forcing altered states within, -
The dead speak to me,
Faces formed in shadows bare, -
Psychotic voices,
Leave me forsaken of self, -
Obcessing all night,
I am so in love with her, -
My Demon doth speak,
Confusion clouds waking thoughts, -
Eternity taunts,
Silver blade cuts naked flesh, -
Why do I feel you?
So close, yet so far away, -
Embracing darkness,
Numb to my lack of restraint, -
Cradle to the grave,
Pain is the only constant, -
Walking through fire
Percieving a world of lies -
Harsh whispered choices
So many paths before me -
Look past perception
The tapestry unravels -
Darkness calls softly
Growing in the entropy -
Insecurity
Consuming my mind -
Fucked up, mental prick
Product of society -
Please don't weep for me
I am not worthy of you -
So very tired
Suppressing my dark demon -
Tying up loose ends
Life becomes a fading dream -
Death's sweet lullaby
Beckoning blessed release -
I am a poet
Who dreamed he was a good man -
Immortality
Forever is a long time -
Moon is in Aries
Clock ticks in uncertainty -
Lost fallen Angel
Walks among weak mortal men -
Temporal darkness
Nexus of all illusion -
Darkness is rising
So cold the grip of despair -
We are kindred souls
You share my abilities -
Where there’s pain there’s life
And all we are defines it -
Fare thee well, my love
So lost in my illusions -
Darkness blankets thought
Wading through the hollow lies -
I am so lonely
I can’t connect with people -
My mind in meltdown
Riding familiar storms -
Lost reality
My gift beyond my control -
Life becomes the dream
A statue of illusions -
Recoiling from touch
So long have I walked alone -
Lurking in shadows
A monument of dark thoughts -
Joining all the dots
The picture becomes clear -
My flesh is crawling
My demon fights for his life -
Valiant of heart
Finding peace in delusions -
Staring at my feet
As you laugh at my sorrow -
Fading illusion
Grasping remnants of its pull -
So many voices
An orchestra of despair -
Woken by voices
whispering their dark secrets -
Please leave me alone
I’m just living in my mind -
Reality calls
An unwelcome visitor -
The blade slides on skin
A deep bloodied smile in flesh -
Craving my release
Flirting with eternity -
Hiding in my mind
The pain is too much to bear -
Whispers in silence
Solitude becomes my cage -
Foretold of purpose
Fighting destiny’s design -
