Hi.
I don't know whether my "A short account..." is a good example of a shadow sonnet, though I am flattered by your selecting it as an example. In many ways it goes beyond the "rules" of a shadow sonnet, because it doesn't stick strictly to shadowing the first/last word in each line, but includes shadowing of other words, phrases, even ideas, in an irregular fashion.
But, as I say, I am proud that you picked it.

Hi Mairi
I have to say I have yet to find a contemporary example better than yours, there are not many to be had. I don't just read on AP but many different sites and books. I am guessing its not an easy form to do so normally one non-poets like me avoid attempting. Maybe one day I need to get meter sorted out on a regular basis first.

Thank you for the compliment, Jem. You have, of course, picked mine before any example of the person who devised the form (who is, I believe, an AP poet!). It's quite an honour.

OH bloody hell, how strange to find this brief conversation - seems I have written one after all.
