she sits alone the bride to be -
The farm it seems has had it’s day
though food is scarce and life is hard -
Golden harvest ripens in the fields
to see the bounty Nature yields -
In Autumn all the world’s aglow with fires of red and gold
as towering spires sway in the breeze, the leaves will lose their hold -
The children always gather round
and sit cross legged upon the ground -
The scintillating sunrise streaked the sky in scarlet rays
saturation of the clouds had just begun, -
There’s a poet that I’ve come to know it’s been just past a year
he’s been my mentor and the dearest friend, -
I’ll keep you safe within my palms
no time for fear or need to sigh, -
I’ll always remember the look on your face
you held me and giggled with glee, -
She sits and she dreams of the day he’ll return
the man who ran off with her heart. -

The thought of a turn round the floor in your arms -
My garden is my one delight
a panacea for my soul, -

Like sheep to the slaughter they come in their masses,
The train a transporter to evil morasses, -
In Autumn days, cool Autumn days
when mists are in the air -
