She sits among the debris of her years
each segment of her life is packed away, -

I need to hold you deep within my heart
and keep you from all harm that life can bring, -
We walked upon the quiet moonlit sand
and felt the warmth of life beneath our feet, -
I’ll try and be as honest as I can
and tell you what I feel within my heart -
You should have seen the world before it died
it used to be the perfect place to live -
An Autumn mist now settles on the town
and dewdrops kiss each tiny blade of grass, -
To some she is the Queen of Elves
one day her words will grace the shelves -
The sky was grey and overcast with rain
it echoed feelings deep within her heart, -
While Mother Nature wears her cloak of gold
all interspersed with many shades of red, -
Now every bubble blown by her sweet lips
will trap a dream within for all to see, -
The early morning sunrise lights the skies
and streaks of liquid gold pierce swirling mist, -
The cooling breeze that stirs the evening air
is natures way to signal seasons change, -
The constant voice of friendship in my mind
Who holds my hand when all around goes dark -
I try each night before I go to bed
To sit and write some words of love to you -

He stands as tall and proud as any man
with bright and shiny medals on his chest, -
Confined to one small space within a room
a diary told the world of all her fears, -
The sun had fled the sky before the storm.

The house feels cold and empty in the dark
she tries to sleep, no friendly dream appears -
The heat from summer’s sun soon disappears
as Autumn’s chill awakes another day, -
The golden sun that chased night away
an early chill that wrapped the land in mist; -
The beauty of the world within her eyes
is captured by the beauty in her soul, -
She stands and looks toward a distant peak
