Long lined verse is very rare to find, classic Australian Bush Poetry and some of the sonnet forms still use these methods. but you are more likely to find verse with line lengths of less than ten syllables than you are more than that.
Some People say that a poem should be brief, both in line length and in the actual size of the poem, yet balladic poetry and epic verse is a great way to tell a story. The meter and pace of reading can add excitement and feeling to a piece that can be easily missed in shorter pieces.
These are a selection of long lined (more than ten syllables per line) poems that I have written. Some are short, some long, some can be said to be works of outright fantasy, others narrative stories closer to reality, but all are works that I am proud of.
You, the reader, may not like all of them but I am sure there is one or two that may touch a special part of you.
