GETTING POINTS:
Points can be earned or they can be purchased. Obviously it is much cheaper to earn them but this also requires a little work on your part. To earn points you must comment, comment, comment on other members. And each comment much be at least 100 characters in length in order to count for the minimum amount of points per comment. You can also earn points by entering and winning poetry contests.

Contest Rewards are as follows:
1-4 entries earn 15 points awareded upon completion from the site owner
5-15 entries or invite only/quickies earn 30 points.
and 15+ earn 75 points.

To Enter A Contest:
Under the heading, ENTER THIS CONTEST, click on the words, NEW POEM or PRE-WRITTEN POEM, whichever applies in your case.

TO CHANGE YOUR NAME:
Go to MY ACCOUNT at the top of your page and under "Personal Information" you will see CHANGE NAME... just click and it will take you where you need to be to make the change.

Go to MY ACCOUNT at the top of your page, click and scroll down the page. Under "Personal Information" you will see EDIT AUTHOR INFO OR DISPLAY, click and it will take you where you need to be to make the change.

Additional Contest Information:
As clarified on Sept 24th contests designed to award trophies to specific people is against site policy. Contest must have a fair number of entries, three is not an appropriate amount and even a contest with only 5 entries is pretty iffy unless it is a tiered contest. (see below)

In other words, contests that announce from the start that they will be tiered, i.e. have elimination rounds of competition [with a fair number of entrants], are ok - but not just for a few entries at a time to award prenamed winners. As you can understand, that practice can be (and has been) too easily abused. You may of course award extra points or HMs to runners up, but not additional gold, silver and bronze trophies.

To Add A Post To Your Page:
To add a post to your page, simply go to the very top of your page and click on, "ADD". Be sure to type your work into Note Pad or some other program BEFORE posting, just in case any errors occur and your work doesn't post on the first attempt. Post your poem in the selected area, choose the correct categories that best fit of your work, type in any notes you may wish to add, such as, "Dedicated to Me", type in the name of any collaborater if that applies and then you will select left or center align.
IF you are a Silver or Gold member, you may also add an image.
Once you hit SUBMIT, it will take you to the area where you can then select a background.

To Add Author Notes After You Have Posted A Poem:
Click on EDIT on the right hand side of your post under OWNER OPTIONS. Scroll down to "Any Notes?" and type in what you wish to say. Once you have done this be sure you scroll to the bottom of the page and click on SUBMIT POEM. This will save the changes you have just made.

TO DELETE A POST:
On the right hand side of the page, about midway down you will see:
Owner Options
Edit, Edit background
Click on EDIT. At the top of the next page you will see DELETE. Click on that, confirm your action and you are done.

To Change Your Display Picture:
Go to your author page and click on EDIT AUTHOR INFO in the upper right hand corner beneath the heading "Your Profile". Once you get to the next page, click on EDIT FACE in the upper right hand corner beneath the heading, "Related Links". Click on BROWSE and this will take you to wherever you have your pictures on file. Select the image you want, click on OPEN and this will place the appropriate link into the box provided. Next, click on ADD YOUR FACE. It will take a few hours for your image to appear on your comments.

To Add Music To A Page: [for paid members only]
Go to the page you wish to add music and click on EDIT, this will take you where you need to be to complete the task. Scroll down the page until just before the end you see, Background Music, click on the little box and it will bring up a menu that shows the selection of songs you can choose from. You CANNOT link or upload songs or music to this site from another site. You can only choose from the list provided. Click on the music of your choice. Be sure you have your sound on so you can hear the music you are adding. Once you have made your selection, click SUBMIT POEM.

To move a post from the "Poems I'm Focused On" list into your "My Poetry" list:
Scroll down the right hand side of the screen where it says OWNER OPTIONS and click on 'unpin/remove from page'.

TO PUT THE TROPHIES BACK ON YOUR PAGE:
Go to your author page and type http://allpoetry.com/home/option/set_alltrophy in the URL.

To Turn Over Control Of A Group:
Click on the group you wish to change owners on. Then click on the EDIT GROUP tab on the right hand side of the page. In the text box where the group owner is typed in, just delete the owners name and type in the new one. But the new owner has to already be in the group for this to work.

TO EDIT AUTHOR INFO OR DISPLAY SETTINGS
Click on MY ACCOUNT at the top of your screen and scroll down te page where it lists PERSONAL INFORMATION and click on EDIT AUTHOR INFO OR DISPLAY SETTINGS. Once there, scroll midway down the page and you will see the area where you can set your profanity and adult settings.

To edit a poem that has already been posted:Look to the right hand side of your screen. Midway down, beneath the heading OWNER OPTIONS
you will see:
Pin to author page
Click on the word EDIT. This will take you to the page where you need to be to make any necessary changes to your poem. To change the background, naturally you would click on EDIT BACKGROUND.

To select a background:
Go to the page you wish to select a background for. Look to the right hand side of your screen. Midway down, beneath the heading OWNER OPTIONS
you will see:
Pin to author page
Click on the words EDIT BACKGROUND. This will take you to the page where you need to be to view your background options and make a selection. If you are a free member your choices will have to be made from:

To recommend other member's poetry for reading to another person(s), on the right hand side of the screen of the poem page you wish to recommend, about midway, under the heading of OWNERS OPTIONS, if you can click on VIEW OPTIONS, the 5th and 6th item on that list are as follows:
Nominate for front page - if you click on this feature, it will bring up a form to fill out to submit a poem you feel deserves to be in the spotlight. Simply type in why you feel this poemshould be read by one and all in the box provided.
Tell a friend - if you click on this feature, it bring up a pre-written email message to send to a friend. All you need to do is fill in their email address in the box provided, then click on SEND EMAIL.

TO VIEW COMMENTS MADE ON YOU:
To be certain you are viewing all of the comments left for you, simply click on MY ACCOUNT located at the top of the screen on the task bar. Scroll down the left hand side of the screen to "Your Activity". Beneath that heading, the sixth item down is, Comments on you or by you, click on the words ON YOU anytime you wish to view comments left for you.

To Remove A Guestbook Entry:
Simply click on the words SHOW ALL beneath Guestbook and it will take you to the page where you need to be.
Beneath each comment you will see the words:
Unapprove Delete
Simply click on DELETE and it will remove the entry.

DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT:
We hope that your reasons for wanting to leave the site aren’t the result of dissatisfaction with what we have to offer here, or altercations with another member, should either of those be the case, please notify us. Should it still be your desire to leave the site, you can go into MY ACCOUNT, at the top of your page, under YOUR ACTIVITY click on MASS DELETE and and check the box marked CLICK ALL, then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on SUBMIT. below your name, scroll down to DELETE POEMS. Next, you need to delete any personal information from your author page by clicking on EDIT USER ACCOUNT on the right hand side of the page. After a period of approximately six months of no activity, your account will automatically drop from the system. During this time, you cannot log in to this account.
